Oxenford is known for its' acreage properties, positioned south of the Coomera River and is part of the Gold Coast hinterland. This suburb is close to Movie World, Wet'N'Wild and Dreamworld theme parks. It is easily accessed from the M1 Pacific Motorway. It has a small shopping centre with Woolworths plus other various strip shops. Close by schools are Gaven and Oxenford Primary schools. There is a cricket club, pony club and a community centre close by at Studio Village and one in Oxenford itself. The Helensvale train station is minutes away. This area is most suitable for those with horses. There is a cemetery off the Tamborine-Oxenford Road.

It has been reported in the Gold Coast Bulletin on 19/08/2005 a new $80M homemaker centre in Oxenford will be built and will be known as Homeworld Oxenford. It has been approved by Council and will have 25,000sqm of retail and showroom space with parking for 950 cars.
